| Coastal Turkish Vessel |
This was a one-masted vessel with a spritsail. As in sakoleva the mast carried a lashed topmast. However the topmast stood vertically and had main-, top- and topgallant yards as well as an additional long sprint. The bowsprit stood very steeply and aft. Of sails they carried the counter-mainsail (the spritsail, which was not fastened to the mast in a Levanta manner but on horse's hoops belayed from the sprint yardarm to the top of the mast), the topsail, the topgallant sail and the mainsail. The mainsail was not fastened to the yard and it was raised by two yardarm halyards belayed through blocks on the arms of the yard. These halyards served also as braces for the main yard. The staysail was fastened on the main stay, which led to the fore stem and between the top of the mast and the bowsprit they set a flying jib.
